Terms of service
The plain language rules for using tuuty, whether you learn or teach.
Last updated July 9, 2026
1. The service
tuuty connects students with independent tutors for live 1:1 language lessons over video in the browser. Calls are encrypted and are not recorded.
Tutors are independent providers, not tuuty employees. Each tutor sets their own rate, from €4 per lesson upward, and manages their own availability. tuuty provides the platform: discovery, booking, payments, messaging, and the classroom.
2. Accounts
You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Keep your credentials safe: you are responsible for activity on your account.
Each student gets one free trial lesson. Creating extra accounts to claim additional trials is not allowed and may lead to account closure.
3. Booking and cancellation
Lessons are 25 or 50 minutes. When you book, we debit your wallet at the tutor's rate (a 25 minute lesson costs half the tutor's rate). The free trial lesson debits nothing.
If you cancel a lesson, the full price is refunded to your wallet immediately. Your tutor is notified.
4. Wallet and payments
You pay for lessons from a euro wallet that you top up. Top ups are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, and VAT is applied at checkout where it applies to you.
Wallet funds do not expire. Refunds of top ups are handled case by case: write to support@tuuty.app and we will look at it.
5. Tutor terms
Tutors apply and are reviewed by our team before they can be listed or booked. We may decline or remove a listing that does not meet our standards.
If you teach on tuuty, keep your availability accurate and show up to every lesson a student has booked. Repeated no shows or stale calendars can lead to delisting.
6. Acceptable use
Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, and abusive behavior toward students or tutors are not tolerated.
Do not record other participants in a lesson. Do not arrange or solicit payment for lessons outside the platform to circumvent tuuty's fees. Violations can result in suspension or closure of your account.
7. Liability
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. tuuty is not a party to the tutoring relationship between a student and a tutor and is not responsible for the content or outcome of lessons.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make a material change, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Continuing to use tuuty after a change means you accept the updated terms.
