Privacy policy
This is what we collect, what we never collect, and what you can do about it. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.

What we collect
We collect what the product needs to work, and nothing beyond it:
- Account details. Your name, email address, country and timezone. The timezone is what lets us show lesson times in your local clock.
- Profile information. Whatever you add to your profile, such as a photo or the languages you are learning. Tutors also provide the application details we review before they can be booked.
- Lessons you book. Who with, when, how long (25 or 50 minutes), and what the lesson cost.
- Messages you send. Messages with your tutor are saved to your inbox so the conversation is there when you come back.
- Private lesson notes. Notes you write during a lesson are stored so you can reread them later. They are yours alone: your tutor cannot see your notes and you cannot see theirs.
- Wallet transactions. Top-ups, lesson payments and refunds on your euro wallet, so your balance and history are always accurate.
What we do not collect
Your lessons are 1:1 live video in the browser, and the video and audio of a call are never recorded. Call media flows directly between you and your tutor, encrypted end to end by the browser. When your networks cannot connect directly, the media passes through a relay server, but even then it is only forwarded, never stored, and never readable by us. There is no recording feature to switch on, on either side.
Payments
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. When you top up your wallet, you pay Lemon Squeezy directly and they handle VAT at checkout. tuuty never sees or stores your card number. What we keep is the outcome: the order reference and the amount added to your wallet.
If you cancel a lesson, its price is refunded to your wallet, and you can see that transaction in your history like any other.
Where your data lives
Your data is hosted with our infrastructure providers in the EU and the US. Access is protected by row level security: the database itself enforces that you can only read your own account, your own lessons, your own messages and your own notes. That rule holds even for our own application code.
Cookies
We use cookies for two things. Session cookies keep you signed in, and a preference cookie remembers display settings such as your 12 or 24 hour time format. That is the whole list: no ad trackers, no third party analytics cookies, no cross-site anything.
Your rights
Your data is yours. You can ask us to:
- show you a copy of the data we hold about you (access)
- fix anything that is wrong (correction)
- delete your account and the data that goes with it (deletion)
- send you your data in a portable format (export)
Email privacy@tuuty.app for any of these and we will respond within 30 days. For anything else, the help page and support@tuuty.app are there for you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for anything meaningful, tell you by email before it takes effect. We will not quietly weaken it. The current version always lives at this address, alongside our terms of service.
